Alfred Bovington

Born in Addlestone, the son of Mr G Bovington of Garfield Cottages, Addlestone, Alfred was living in Addlestone when he enlisted in Loughborough, Leicestershire, as Private 40215 with the 1st/4th Battalion of the Leicestershire Regiment.

It was less than 3 months before the end of the war, on 16th August 1918 when Alfred was killed in action in France. Alfred was 28 when he died and is buried in Fouquieres Churchyard Extension Cemetery, France.
